Where does Asia end? (UPDATE 01 SEP 2009)

The Question we had a few times now: Is New Zealand in, is Dubai in.. is Saudi Arabia or Turkey in?

Here is a map from Asia, where your entry should be from. Please follow this updated link below from “Wikipedia”.  (See full list of countries within Asia below)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asia#Physical_geography

Be aware that i updated this link on the 1st of September 2009, as i posted by mistake an old, uncomplete political map from Asia.

“Wikipedia” shows all countries, country flags and country names now. (Political & Physical Geography) I hope that helps to put things straight and I like to apologize for any confusion i caused with the old data and reply posted.

Unfortunately New Zealand is still not in ;-), that would be Asia & Pacific, but Dubai and Saudi Arabia?? Absolutely!!

Hi. I am an Indonesian and I took shots when I traveled in Bali, but I live in New Zealand, currently holding NZ passport. Will I be eligible to enter this competition?

  2. admin Says:

HI Arfi, You can enter as a citizen from any country in the world, only the images you enter must be taken in Asia. Bali is within Asia so you can enter no problem.

  3. arfi Says:

great!! thanks a lot. count me in! will send you my entries soon. cheers.

  4. Lauren Says:

Isn’t Turkey considered part of Asia too?

  5. teo Says:

What about Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan? If Central Asia does not count as Asia, what is it? Still the Soviet Union? Or the Middle East - but then what about Saudi Arabia being counted as Asia?

Surely, you should amend this list.

I verified my earlier findings and looked up the border definition of Asia again; this time in Wikipedia. In my earlier post i made a mistake and showed an older incomplete map.

This post is updated now, so please refer to this link here and above.
